Golden Alexanders
Zizia aurea

perennial — comes back on its own year after year once established.
Tidy domes of tiny golden-yellow flowers float over clean, divided foliage from mid-spring into early summer — an easygoing, long-lived woodland-edge native. A key host plant for black swallowtail butterflies, and the foliage stays handsome well past bloom.
